Nutty and a touch of wood. Clearish brown with a small beige head. Cocoa, roast and some toast. Not bad.

Quite cleanly made, but extremely light, almost no body at all. Very little of the token brown ale flavours. LB sk beer

On tap at St. Augustine's, pours a deep dark bronze with a small white head. Aroma brings out notes of toasted malt and toasted nuts. Flavour is along the same lines, with bready malt, a touch of caramel and toasted nuts. Pretty weak and unambitious. Not offensive, but it's not good.

A little sour and slightly contaminated in overall taste. Pours brown with ok head. Tangy sour finish. Not my thing. Tap at Garrick Head.

Soft barley aroma with a modest head and dark brown body with still a decent amount of translucency. Rather disappointing barley flavour and watery finish. A typical beer of theirs that is found lacking.

355 ml can. Pours a clear brown with a small, creamy, tan head that laces. Sweet aroma of roasted malt, caramel, bread and nuts. Sweet malty flavour of caramel and nuts with a dry finish. Medium body with an oily texture and soft carbonation.
