Zenne batch 2 750mL, March 2016, drunk 10/8/16.
Pours well-carbonated with a beige head that steadily recedes to a ring. Deep amber liquid has auburn and gold highlights and shows high clarity.
I agree with this being split out, as the first batch, while nearly identical in taste, was produced without a solera blending. The nose has the same incredible sherry character as batch 1 with vanilla, almond, olive, heavy black and white pepper and yet a delightful Brett-Lacto acid blend characteristic of this brewery. Full and enveloping, it's certainly a beer that can be sniffed to perpetuity. Good malt backing to it, adding honey-like notes in the background, with a rich, vintage red wine character in the background and the sherry character softening and unfolding nicely over a few hours. Decanting this is definitely a must for the optimal experience. No alcohol, flaw or excessive acid.
In the mouth it's soft, malty, highly flavorful and well-attenuated with nutty sherry mixing with light-to-moderate lactic acidity and moderate Brett fruitiness and acidity. Plentiful black and white pepper combine with almond and vanilla, as a strong, difficult-to-describe sherry-like oxidation character creates a strong complexity and strong dryness on the end, working surprisingly well against the grape-like character and rich maltiness. No alcohol or flaw, not really so much sour as it is nicely tart with balanced acidity. Tight, fine carbonation. Incredible, incredible stuff. Wish it were possible to drink this beer regularly.

Decanted sample. Hazy darm amber, soapy bubbles. Very broad fresh wood notes: Green mossy, mahagoni, cherry, sherry soaked oxidation, quite some fruitiness in the aroma. Very dry mouthfeel, lactic and vinegar acid, green wood, very old wood, tannic notes, old orangepeel, papaya. Very tart acidic oxidized finished.

Bottle, batch 2 (or first Solera), decanted for more than an hour. Pours like a lambic should. Aroma is Sherry, lambic funk, wood. Body is very similar to B1, litlle more oil, sourer too. Still an amazing beer. Would drink again, but not worth the secondary market price - Flights to Brussels are cheaper.

Bottle, many thanks anstei & dzudohonor! Decanted for a couple of hours in a 3l Calanda BrΓ€u glass, it smelled like BΓΆchser at first. Hazy orange color with white head. Aroma is Oloroso, sherry, nutty, wood, leathery. Taste is lots of Oloroso, nutty, leathery, gooseberries, classic Geuze flavours. Late wood and balanced tannins. Oily mouthfeel with natural carbonation. Absolutely excellent, but I got more sherry flavours from the first batch - this somehow works better.Handbottled a sample and tried it 5 days later. Much more walnuts and sherry flavours, basically identical to the b1 sample I've had. Superb.
