A bottom fermented Irish ale? Interesting! Bottled. Reddish brown color. Hints of caramel and butterscotch in the aroma. Sweet, slightly alcoholic flavor with earthy, grassy and flowery hops, cinnamon and pepper. Some tropical fruit shining through the hops. Well made and tasty beer, but not my favorite from this brewery.

Bottle shared thanks to Deanso. Pours murky light brown with a fast disappearing head. Aroma of bitter, tea, malt, light orange and caramel. Flavour is moderate sweet and bitter. Medium bodied with light carbonation. Not bad but didn’t take the age too well.

75 cl bottle @ Olutravintola Esplanadi. Rated on 02.05.2009
Aroma has hops, exotic fruits and some caramel. Flavour is sweet with resiny malt, some caramel and fruits. Also hints of bun dough occur at the end of the glass. Quite unique stuff.

Bottle from De Molen shop. Copper color with large beige head. Aroma of caramel, raspberries. Taste, raspberries, roasted malt, light bitterness in background. Fruity finish with light hoppy touch. Delicious beer, little bit on sweet side, but it doesn’t matter. Alcohol is well hidden.

Cloudy brown beer. Light dry palate. Intense rich malt and bittering hops. Some tart apple thing going on but it’s quite drinkable if unsubtle in it’s flavours. Rough and ready indeed!

28/05/2011 Brasserie 4:20 (tap).
