Bottle at home. Aroma of dark malt, liquorice, herbal notes, syrup, candy sugar, hint of dark fruits. Flavour is sweet. A bit sticky. Not a bad ’winter ale’ at all, nicely balanced.

Bottle at Winterbierfestival, Gouda 2014: Dark brown coloured brew with an nicely sweet bitter taste with hints of mostly fruits and caramel.

Fles thuis geprobeerd met LiekevdV. Het is een diep donkerbruin bier met een rode gloed en heeft een dun beige schuim. Het aroma is moutig, kruidig en wat zoet. De smaak is moutig, caramelachtig en wat kruidig.

Bottle. Deep dark brown color. Cinnamon and caramel in the aroma and flavor. malty sweet, spicy flavor with apple syrup. Sticky mouthfeel. Almost full bodied. Not my taste.

2017 Edition. Sweet roasted malts, dry leaves, bitter tea, mealy dried fruits, berries, spices, light sour wood chips. Moderate sweet and bitter, with a hint of sour in the finish. About full bodied, soft carbonation.

Bottle enjoyed at home in what is finally becoming a livingroom again. 2017 edition. Pours clear dark brown with fluffy light tan head. Sweet roasted malts, dry leaves, bitter tea, mealy dried fruits, berries, spices, light sour wood chips. Moderate sweet and bitter, with a hint of sour in the finish. About full bodied, soft carbonation.

33 cl bottle. Pours hazy brown with a small tan head. Aroma is toasted malty and caramelish. Breadish and toasted malty. Bitter and toasted finish.
