Blonde Ale aged in used Chardonnay barrels from local Sonoma County wineries. It is aged for about 9 to 15 months (depending on the age of the barrel) with lots of brettanomyces, lactobacillus, and pediococcus added to each barrel. Medium bodied with hints of oak and Chardonnay, funky brett characteristics, with a nice, long sour finish.

Poured from 375mL bottle (bottled 05 06 2016 - about 10 years old). Hazed gold with minimal white head. Quite dry, chardonnay underlay, light wood, sour wild yeasts with a hint of astringency. Decent.

Complex and layered in the way you wish all sour/wild beers could be. Citric tartness leads to a dry, oak-tinged bitter streak underlined by funk and a touch of vanilla. Finishes with a hint of Chardonnay sweetness and a firm bitter fade. Lovely beer.

375mL bottle. Pours clear yellow with small white head. Aroma has tart wild yeast, dry wood, lots of white wine, a bit buggy. Flavour has a similar profile, lots of oak, white wine, and wild yeast. Very complex and well-integrated. Fantastic beer.

9 November 2022. Bottle from San Diego Wine Co. Bottled: 17/02/2022. Hazy golden, stable, foamy, white head. Aroma of unripe peach & plum, green apple, sour grape, white wine, horseblanket, grass, wet hay, cheese, vinegar. Taste has sour peach, mandarin & green apple over a sourdough-like malt base with funky & cheesy notes; softly bitter hay accent and acidic vinegar. Finishes with 'old' grassy hops, funky hay, acidic unripe fruit and tannic white wine-like alcohol. Full body, moussy texture, average carbonation. A very noble brew, definitely a treat.
