In Belgische stijl gebrouwen koperkleurig zwaar abdijbier met vol granige neus en bitterzoete graan- en caramelsmaak, gecombineerd met een aangename alcoholwarmte. Er valt niet te spotten met onze dappere ELEGAST. Op zijn zwarte paard is deze ridder een ware volksheld die het niet zo op heeft met de rijke klasse. Zijn stoere karakter vertoont echter ook zachtmoedige trekjes en juist dat maakt ELEGAST zo charmant. Een quadruppel waar niet mee te spotten valt, maar ook een goede vriend.

Fles 33cl thuis. Dried fruits, rozijn, pruim, caramel, redelijk zoet, licht kruidig, wat bitters, licht droog, licht liquorice, nutty. (7-9-2025).

Bottle at 2e Flevo Bierfestival, Almere: Hazy amber colored brew with an sweet bitter taste and hints of fruits, caramel and spices.

Fles gekregen van Arno, geprobeerd met Roelzie. Het is een troebel roodbruin bier met een medium beige schuim. Het heeft een aroma van gedroogd rood fruit en drop. De smaak is vol, warm, fruitig, drop en salmiak.

Bruin bier met weinig schuim. Smaak is licht zoet en fruitig met iets van rozijnen, wat pruimen en sinaasappel. heeft een heel warm/alcohol gevoel in de mond. Even wennen maar een bijzondere en toch best goede Quadrupel.

Bottle. Dark amber color. Yeasty grainy aroma. Rye bread. Malty sweet flavor. Raisin, rye bread, dried fruit. Some alcohol hidden behind the sweetness. Figs. Just a bit unbalanced.

0.33 l bottle from ’Sterk Avondverkoop’, best before December 2016. Clear, red amber with a thin, frothy, almost stable, tan head. Sweetish-malty, slightly fruity aroma of raisins, prunes, currant, caramel and some wood. Sweetish-malty, slightly fruity taste of raisins, prunes, caramel, marzipan and hints of wood, followed by a short, moderately bitter, slightly warming and minimally sourish finish. Medium body, slightly creamy to oily mouthfeel, average carbonation. Quite tasty, but rather anaemic for a Quad. I really like the sourish touch though (although not sure if intended).
