Good pilsener, quite dry and spicy. This beer pours a mildly hazy banana yellow with a healthy white head. Big chunks of foam stick to the sides of the glass. The aroma is mostly grassy hops, clean, light malt and very mildly fruity yeast. The fruitiness is reminiscent of peppercorns and dried lemon rind. The taste is rather dry for the style. The peppercorn spice is much stronger on the tongue, and the grassy hops pack a pretty good punch in the finish. This is not really an easy drinking pils, but it’s interesting without straying too much from the style. Mouthfeel is light and a bit slick. The dry and bitter finish is just this side of harsh. Price was a bit high, but I’m glad to have tried it.

Bottle from Beer Planet. Amber/orange pour with a white head. Aromas of baked apples, pineapples, peaches, malts. Quite fruity. Flavours of pears, malts, peaches. Bit of a fruity burst in the taste. Smooth, fruity mouthfeel. Fruity finish with light hops. Not too bad.

Hazy yellow orange color with an off white head and decent lacing. Aroma is biscuits and gravy, some citrus and pepper. Flavor of hay and grass, bitter from the middle to the end. Medium body, better than your average lager. Nice enough for the style.

11.2 fl oz bottle. I have been on the look out for this one since I read about it in Joe Stange’s book. I was delighted to find a bottle at Blue Max in Burnsville, Minnesota. Pour is slight haze golden light copper with a pretty one inch fluffy white head. Aroma of straw, mineral and earthy malt with a mild sweetness near the back. Taste is a nice blend of the straw and grass malt and the biscuit floral sweetness, with interesting floral hop notes near the middle. The finish has the mineral and earthiness. Lingers just long enough to highlight the mineral. Really clean. Palate is medium thin, smooth, very easy drinking. I liked this one a lot. I am a sucker for unfiltered mineral Pils with a decent hop bill.

33cl at 3 Fonteinen. pours golden, thick white head. Aroma and taste, a strong and present wheaty/grainy and malty palate and nose, some bittering hops come add a nice finish. This is a rather very drinkable Bohemian pilsener.
