We’ve matured our signature Coffee Imperial Stout in premium bourbon barrels for up to one year to create Barrel-Aged Speedway Stout, with the perfect blend of flavors. Notes of oak, vanilla, and bourbon add another level of complexity to this beer’s already massive flavor profile of chocolate, locally roasted coffee, and roasted barley. Designed to be enjoyed now or aged in the bottle for years to come, this special release is truly a unique beer that is smooth as it is rare.

can, 2024 from kihoskh
I had to create this one as Pastry stout bc. the style must be the same as the batch parent beer or it can't be added.
I think it could be argued this is an imperial stout, not a pastry - only thing added as far as I know is coffee.
when opening the can a lot of stout came out by itself, making a mess of my desk.
very nice mainly roasted malty aroma with a bit of perfumey coconut going on. coffee. the bourbon is not very heavy, only being hinted at. smooth balanced aroma
flavor is coconut, cake glazing sweetness, coffee - lots of coffee, roasted malts into the end, and hard roasted lots of coffee roast into the far end.
I think I can feel the coffee - lots of coffee here.
pretty good, for a speedway stout it is a bit too much cake glazing up front, and too little roasted malts. also the bourbon sort of hides itself under the heavy coffee bitterness. it does feel super balanced and smooth and all - but in the end not the best speedway stout i've tried. mouthfeel is okay but tilting towards watery.

Can (2024 vintage) from Ryan and Casey Liquors. Opaque, inky black with nice viscosity, thin head with poor retention and trace lacing. Aroma is strong toffee, earthy malt, coffee, bourbon, oak, vanilla, dark chocolate, hint of marzipan/dark fruit. Taste is strong coffee, roasted malt, bourbon, oak over vanilla, chocolate, hint of dark fruit. Hints of Mexican coffee. Frothy texture, relatively light body for the style/ABV, soft carbonation, pleasant mild warming sensation, no alcohol harshness. After a string of underwhelming Speedway variants, nice to see one deliver.
