2016 catch up - Another "English" IPA. It was very good, with quite an overpowering bitterness that I actually liked. It’s not the most accessible of beers, but I did like it a lot.

500ml bottle from the brewery, poured into a UK pint sleeve at home on 11th Dec 2015, some 5 months before it’s BBD. No sediment left the bottle, so I got a lovely clear amber bodied beer with a full white foam blanket on top. Perfumed, floral nose, interesting aroma all round. The taste has a semi-sweet malt front with a deep hop based depth that takes over mid-sip. Complex and different, a beer to sip, not to rush or gulp. Very, very pleasant in deed.

Bottle from Eebria. Bloody hell I must of wrote this in a hurry... I think my near unintelligible scrawl says ’chestnut’ coloured pour, white head (it actually looks like ’chaste nun, what I said’) Aromas of toffee (toirse), caramel (that was an easier one to read) and citrus? (cars). Flavours of sweet citrus (looks like svelte chorus), caramel and some red fruit (rod fruc). Quite dry. Nice. Blimey! That was like transcribing Sanskrit!

Bottle from Eebria [181214]
Amber orange, clear, massive off white head, over carbonated
Aroma - soft sweet fruits, bit jammy, orange, red berry fruits, nice aroma
Taste of sweet fruits, sweet caramel malts, fruity malts, soft sweet cereal, very low amount of hops for an IPA
Palate - soft carb (eventually), medium body, bit oily, sweet. Finish as main flavour, sweet malts, tad of bitter hop comes though
Overall - Not really an IPA, but nice fruits in here, easy and quaffable

24th October 2014
Lightly hazy amber beer, good pale cream colour head. Palate is airy and semi dry. Decent fine carbonation. Light dry pale malts, touch of cream. Floral bitterness leads to a dry finish. It’s okay but there is no hop fruits here at all and there is a very long list of IPAs I would drink ahead of this.

Bottle thanks to allmyvinyl. Appearance - amber with a nice head. Nose - lemon and floral notes. Green vegetal notes probably elderflowers. Taste - lemon and herbs. Palate - close to medium bodied with a creamy texture and a long dry but elegant finish. Overall - really enjoyable balanced beer.

Bottle shared in London - sourced from Eebria. Pours mostly clear gold with a creamy, white head. The nose has some minerals, citrus, hay. Light-medium sweet flavor with some straw bitterness, further minerals, light marmalade. Light bodied with fine to average carbonation. Sweet finish with some dry white bread, hay, peach, dried lemon. Not bad.
