Master brewer Alfred Van Roy launched Dobbel PALM in 1947 as a festive beer to celebrate the brewery’s bicentenary. Dobbel PALM is an amber-coloured, top-fermentation beer with an even more pronounced malty and hoppy character than PALM. Dobbel PALM is the ideal connoisseurs’ beer for the festive season.

Fles thuis geprobeerd. Het is een amberkleurig bier met een stevig schuim. Het heeft een moutig en gebrand aroma, de smaak is moutig hoppig en caramelachtig.

Pours clear amber with a small, tan head. Aroma of caramel, candi sugar, Cola, red apple, brioche, peanut. Taste has generic caramel-malty sweetness, some candied red apple, bit herbal & nutty bitter. Slightly hoppy, lingering caramel, dry herbal effect. Light body, slick texture, average carbonation. More pronounced and thus more enjoyable than the regular Palm, but remaining quite boring. (Edited 13/2/2021)

Draft. Reddish brown with a big foamy head and some lacing. Aroma of caramell, malt and sugar. Taste follows aroma plus some fruitiness. Good carbonation and very sessionable.

Oranjebruin bier met veel schuim. Smaak is licht zoet en licht bitter, verder gewoon bier met een ietwat sterkere smaak.

Sugarcane, grilled grains and malts. I like the frothy malt aftertaste, the rest is sugarwater. Backlog from 2015/02/27.

Not outstanding aroma. Taste a bit roasted malty, with an obvious bitterness.
