Dark red brown with a delicate head that lasts. Dark berries, chocolate, dried fruit, melanoid accents, herbal notes. Rich, fruity sour, with notes of Old English Ale and even Barley Wine. Mega chocolate finish, a bit of earthiness and yellow. Great!

0,5 flaske delt med Rory: mørk rødbrun med fint skum som varer. Mørke bær, kaffe, streifet av urter. Tørr, passe syrlig og med god ettersmak.

Panda at home, thanks to Fergus, 07/01/23. Deep mahogany brown with a good sized light khaki cap that clears to a swirl and edging. Nose is stewed fruits, nutty, vinous, dark malts, herb. Taste comprises earthy fruits, toffee, dark malts, herb, stewed fruits, fruit cake mix, raisins, light cocoa, brown sugar dusting, just a hint of oxidisation. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, light drying close with just a spike of alcohol. Not bad age considered.

Bottle from the rot box, maybe 8 years old. A mostly clear nut brown coloured pour with a decent loose khaki head that fades to a swirl. Aroma is nutty brown bread, raisin loaf, little age, rye, cola cubes, prunes. Flavour is composed of semi sweet, layered nutty brown bread, toasted malts, dried fruits trail mix, light age, grape. Palate is semi sweet, oily, mellow carbonation. Has aged pretty good.

Bottle online from Beers Of Europe. Pours a very very dark brown almost black colour with a reddish hue and a large thick creamy beige head. Aromas of dry dark fruits, cherries, fruit cake, chocolate, caramel, brown bread and liquorice. Taste has lots more dry dark fruits, cherries, red berries, fruit cake, chocolate, caramel, molasses and brown bread. There is a hint of sweetness which is balanced out beautifully with light roasted malts and earthy hops on the finish. Full body, low carbonation and smooth slightly oily mouthfeel. Great strong English Ale!

Bottle from Hogs Back Brewery shop. Aroma had dark fruit and a sour edge plus a slightly off-putting sodden ashtray streak. Darkest brown. Silky. Delicate foamy light beige head. Light-medium bitter. Sorta charcoal. Also sour berries and unassuming molasses and dark fruits. More sweet into the finish. Smoky. Light-medium bodied. Thin creamy mouthfeel. Soft carbonation. Long finish. Seems particularly astringent. It's alright but with this style I'd prefer more dark boozy fruit and less bitterness/astringency.

Bottle from Beers Of Europe. Black body with ruby highlights and a thin beige head. Faint lacing. Aroma of raisins, liquorice and coffee. Flavour of treacle and blackcurrant. Medium body with a slick texture. Very fizzy. This is very good. Less carbonation would improve it but the rich flavours come together beautifully in this.

Tight foamy off white head left a cover on a dark brown still body. Sweet fruity aroma. Medium bodied, sharp with a clean back. Berries, roasted, nutty, light smoke & burnt tastes. Good one!

Bottle from Beers of Europe. Appearance - deep brown wtb orange slithers around the edge. Neat off white head. Nose - burnt toffee and honeycomb. Taste - toffee, cherry and marzipan. A wee touch of liquorice on the very end. Palate - medium bodied at least. Rich but lightly tangy texture. Overall - it grew on me a lot.
