33 cl. bottle @ home, bought @ Mitra Tiel. Hazy dark amber with a thin white head. Smokey peaty aroma. Sweet boozy smokey taste. As a whisky lover as well as a beer lover I like the idea of rhis beer but it is a bit too sweet and boozy for my taste.

At wvhnb. Big sweet malts, dough, light roasted touch and some earth. Very sweet and syrupy with noticeable alcohol. Full bodied. Nice stuff, you really get the whisky/beer combo.

Trübes bernsteinfarbenes Bier mit geringer Schaumkrone. Geruch rauchig, Torf, Whiskey, fruchtig, leicht alkoholisch, genauso ist auch der Geschmack.

Weird beer. It’s golden, with a body of grainy malt. Has a smokey backbone and a strong taste of peated whiskey. Bit unbalanced, but creative.

Bottle, courtesy of noize. Glowing orange coloured with a beige head. Nose is smoked malts, a bit meaty, slightly peaty, bit of caramel. Flavour is malty, fairly sweet, peaty. Fairly boozy, medium carbonation. Finish is boozy and bitter.

Bottled, BB somewhere in 2022, large sample. Clear amber color with big chunks of debris, short lasting off-white head. Quite peaty aroma, smoke, some iodine, caramel and amber malt. It’s not as intense peat as I would have expected. Malt base underneath the beer seems a bit boring. In taste it’s a bit fruity, slight smoked, bit dry. High alcohols, esters and fusels come up. Like the bottle says, like a blend between whiskey and beer. Well, I’m not a whisky lover, so can’t judge on the quality that much. The peat I can easily handle, I just think the beer is a bit thin and has a bit too much alcohol.

Bottle thanks to Douberd and the European Local Swap II. Dark amber colour with a nice off-white head with small bubbles, nice lacing and good duration. Aroma is smoky, malty, caramel and peat. Flavor is strong smoky and alcoholic, caramel, notes of peat, whisky and wood. The final has a decent bitterness and alcoholic.

Bottle from Speciaal Bier Winkel, Bodegraven
Hazy amber color with small head. Soft but evident peat aroma with light vanilla and very light alcohol, impression of cheese. Full bodied, yet with lean mouthfeel; good malt flavor, with a touch of caramel and toffee, moderately sweet, with strong bitterness, very good alcohol management, and a roasted nuts final.
Clean, powerful (lightly boozy), good.

On tap @ Arendsnest, shared with caesar, chriso, rlgk & spouses. Dark copper color, hazy. Off white head, good lacing. Aroma’s: peaty, medicinal, smoky. Flavor is moderately sweet with a light bitterness. Rather full bodied and with warming alcohol. Finishes rather bitter. I quite liked this.
