Bottle at Deano’s monthly tasting, September 2013. Poured a deep mahogany with a frothy tan head. The aroma is yeasty with some sour citrus notes. The flavour is weak sour with a dry yeasty malty flavour. Nice but not that nice.

Bottle, thanks to deeblo. Bit of a gusher. It pours opaque very dark brown, with a small beige head. The nose is roasted malt, smoke, chocolate, toast and a touch of spice. The taste is tangy dark fruit, particularly cherry and blueberry, roasted malt, charcoal, toast, chocolate and earth, with a very dry, lightly tangy finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Perhaps slightly infected? Still not a bad tasting beer.

Bottle at THE Eclipse Tasting, London. Many thanks to Bruce for producing this nightcap. After a meaningful gush from the bottle, this beer poured black-brown with a big, beige cream head. Odd nose, lots of dark malts, some decent tang that suggests something is amiss. Medium sweet flavor with moderate roast, light runner, light herbal character. Medium to full bodied with average, creamy carbonation. Fairly sweet finish, some dirt, burnt sugars, light tang, moderate earth. So so. Interesting stuff, and I fear this beer show us its full potential.
