33 cl bottle thanks to Nisse666! Sampled on March 8, 2012BB 6/7/12Black color, dark brown head. Sweet, roasted, chocolate scent. Malty, salty, grainy, charcoal, gun powder taste, also sweet licorice. Smooth mouthfeel, medium high bitterness.

33cL bottle purchased at Bierkoning on my Amsterdam trip and consumed at my hotel room in October, 2011. Serial # 595, best before 6/2/12. Pours with a small but long lasting brown head. Has a completely black body. Its a very dry and bitter imperial stout. The beer has a light body for what I have come to associate with an Imperial Stout. So, this tells you its a less American IS and more close to an English IS. Yet the bitterness seems to come equally from the malts and the hops, so some American influence. Some faint coffee in the aroma. A very easy drinking IS.

Bottled. A black beer with a beige head. The aroma has notes of sweet and roasted malt, alcohol, soy sauce, and caramel. The flavor is sweet with notes of alcohol, roasted malt, caramel, and wood, leading to a dry roasted finish. Thanks yespr for sharing.

Bottle 33 cl. Courtesy of yespr. Pours an opaque brown with a light brown head. Heavy roasty aroma, with quite some alcohol. Solid body, heavy roast, vanila and pruney dried fruit. Again lots of licorice. A nice, straight Imperial Stout. 171111

Bottle 330ml. @ [ Tasting by Fin & Loz ].Clear dark black colour with a large, frothy, good lacing, mostly to fully lasting, beige head. Aroma is light heavy malty, roasted, chocolate, coffee, licorice notes. Flavour is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, dryy, dark chocolate, roasted, salty notes. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20111021]

Bottle from Bier Koning. Solo hungover tasting in my hotel room! Opaque black beer. Little tan head. Licorice dark malt, smooth but a little bitter. Not roasty though! Turns a little creamier before the minerally semi dry finish. Not bad!

Bottle at Fin & Loz’s tasting with Jan, Charlotte, Craig, Stella & kids consumed 21.10.11 I purchased this beer at Bierkoning, Amsterdam, Netherlands, September 2011 Pours black really smooth. This is roasty but not too hard on the bitterness and roasty front. Some vanilla and a nice warmth shines through. Not too pushy and all things considered a damn nice imperial stout. Craig suggests that the Belgians and Dutch (with a couple of notable exceptions) cannot really make these big stouts, I disagree I think that they can and do and often with a lot more subtlety.
