Troubadour Westkust is a dark, almost black tasting beer with notes of hop, roasted malt, coffee and subtle hints of chocolate and vanilla. The taste is a balance between roasted malt and coffee followed by a strong but pleasant bitterness that slowly becomes more persistent and creates a long hoppy aftertaste.

28/07/2015 @Centerpars Meerdal, 33cl bottle from a gift. Black colour with small head. Much coffee in nose & taste, some caramel, hops. Bitter ending. Just a bit too high on coffee for me, I would’ve loved more hops taste.

Bottle split at the Tropical Croydonia tasting on melt day, big thanks to Fergus for sourcing this one, 01/07/15. Mahogany brown with a decent beige covering that retains well. Nose is earthy hop, dark berry fruit, toffee, charr. Taste comprises pine, bitter tropicana, light roast, charr, dark fruit peel. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close peppered with earthy hop bitterness. Decent enough XDA, drinks below the ABV offered.

Bottle, 330 ml from MBR, Zagreb. Pours dark brown with beige head. Roasted malts, caramel, chocolate, dried fruits, light to moderate hoppy bitter finish. Had an acidic note which I don’t think should be there - could be bad bottle.
