Bottle bought at Tasting Barn, nr Wokingham. Aroma is malty, there's caramel, nougat. A hint of berries and eggs. Opaque dark brown. Foamy off-white head. Light-medium bitter. A tangy berry edge. Earthy. Woody. Underlying boiled veg. Medium bodied. Slick but thin. Average carbonation. Long dry astringent. It's fine but overly earthy and woody - it's like I've been out licking things in the garden.

500ml bottle from Tipplers, Bewdley. Pours a dark relatively clear brown, small off white bubbles atop. Aroma of leafy malt, lightly oxidised, caramel. Light, almost watery body, minimal carbonation, lightly oxidised, leather, caramel, amber malt. Oxidised elements a little off putting, not great.

18/7/2019. Bottle shared at the South West tour bottle share. Bought at Inn At Home, Newbury. Pours copper brown with a small off-white head. Aroma of malt, toffee, hops, fruit, fruit cake and light liquorice. Medium plus sweetness with moderate bitterness. Medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation. Best of the 4 Loddon's just tried.

Bottle from Stirchley Wines and Spirits. Reddish brown pour with a thin broken tan head. Weak malty, slightly metallic aroma. The flavour is bitter, malty and sticks to the palate. Some bitterness hangs around for quite a while. A most agreeable ale.

Bottle at home in London with Lyoli. Pours clear brown with a soft, frothy white foam. Aroma is lightly toasted, doughy malts with hints of toffee. Flavor is medium sweet with some dry, leathery fruits, toffee, burnt sugar and, oddly, a hefty dose of grassy bitterness. Light to medium in body with fine carbonation. Moderately sweet finish, somewhat bland, with mild notes of toffee, dried leaves, toasted grass, mild dough, dark sugars, hints of dark fruits. Decent.

50cl bottle from Asda, Stevenage. A reddish copper with a fast fading off-white head; aroma of caramel and malt; some red fruit and sweet toffee flavour; and a muddy bitterness to finish, with some rasping alcohol. Pleasant enough.

Bottle, courtesy of fonefan. It pours a brown body under a small, off-white head. The aroma has nuts and dried fruits, some citrusy hops too. Flavorwise it’s much the same, toffee, nuts, dried fruits and citrus. And of course some bitterness. Medium body. Not a very exiting one, but it drinks quite easily. 110129
