February 2012: Shared bottle at local tasting, bought at Systembolaget, Sweden. Pitch black colour, moderate brown head. Lovely aroma, Belgian yeast and strong roasty notes, dark chocolate, coffee and vanilla. Roasty flavour, medium sweet, the same elements as in the aroma. Excellent beer.

Bottle. Almost black. Pure chocolate, caramel and ash in the aroma. Full bodied, almost thick. Malty chocolate flavor with roast and a hint of ash. Some alcohol, yet a deceptively easy drinker. Seriously good stuff.

22oz bottle at share. One of the weakest of the night, IMHO. Not bad, but it was up against some strong competition. Funky Belgian notes throughout that don't quite jive with the base. Interesting, but after the Cuvee Delphine, there was no comparison.

22oz bottle pours out black topped with a tan head. Nose is funky wood and burnt toast. Taste is more of the nice sweet malts belg yeast and a big roast malt.
