At a tasting, thanks DSG, no head, opaque very dark brown borgering on the black, bready malty aroma with chocolate, cocoa, fudge and traces of oak, flavours of moca and liquor filled chocolate, viscous and smooth with with the alcohol almost non noticable and a light sweetness , short aftertaste. Good but i expected more.

Bottled at Monk’s Café Wallingatan, Stockholm. Near black, abdolutely no head. Rich chocolatey nose. Sweet and dense, very chocolatey with full body. Prickly with white pepper, lots of milk chocolate, almost no carbonation. Feels viscous, almost thick. Sweetness comes through in the finish.

Black with a tinybeige head. Sweet aroma with dark chocolate, burned malt and espresso. Flavour was huge with burned malt, dark chocolate, wood, espresso and cognac. Full bodied. A master piece! Once again a brilliant beer from Menno.

Bottle shared at the DC Local tasting. Bottle #353. Pours an oily, opaque black with a spitty, brown head. Looks a little watery maybe. Nose is nutty, woody, charcoal, burnt toast, smoke, brandy. Flavor has chocolate, cherries, heavy coffee, burnt toast, sweet, chocolate chips. Finish is both oily and sweet.

Roasted malty chocolate and coffee flavor with some hints of oak and vanilla. Also some hints of dark fruit. Has a roasted malty chocolate and coffe finish with some hints of wood and vanilla in the aftertaste.

33cl Bottle from De Bierkoning. Pitch black, no head. Aroma of sweet chocolate, alcohol, dark fruits, whiskey. Flavour is rather sweet, chocolate, roasted malts, bit of coffee, some dark fruits, alcohol, bit of plastic. Light bitterness. Very thick, syrupy mouthfeel, but the absence of carbonation makes this beer tough to finish. I prefer the regular H&V, still this is very nice.

Bottled. Big imperial stout like the hel en verdoemenis, but with clear oak chips added to aroma and taste, without the beer becoming too dry. It is still very nice and creamy, which keeps the liquid strong chocolate taste alive. I should have bought more bottles, again. :-) Tap at Copenhagen Beerfestival 09. Dark flat. Soft malty, nicely rounded. Bit red wine as well, malty. Soft and balanced. 4.2
