In a collaboration with Fanø Brewery on Fano Island in Denmark, we created an Imperial Stout recipe to satisfy our own deepest desires. Brewing it on this picturesque summertime vacation island is how Natasha started, and of course we couldn’t wait to brew it at Hoppin’ Frog! The result is Natasha Rocks America - a rich, hoppy Imperial Stout with the deep-roasted, smooth flavor of Chocolate Rye malt. And, Natasha is generously dry-hopped with the perfect mix of select American hops, adding a great hop character to this super-tasty Imperial Stout collaboration brew.

Bottle courtesy of rlgk. Pours deep brownish black with a frothy and creamy mocha head that leaves some thick lacing on the glass while dissiapting. Smell is malty with rye bread, caramel, black pepper corns, hay, soil, alcohol, chocolate and coffee. Taste is bitter and malty with rye bread, rye flour, chocolate, coffee, toasted cereal and orange zest. Mouthfeel is soft, tiny tart and medium to full bodied. Finish is malty with rye bread, caramel, hay, soil, pepper corns and lemon zest. Solid beer but rather meh from this brewery. Something with the malt bill doesn’t quite work for me… --- Beer merged from original tick of Natasha Rocks America Chocolate Rye Stout on 18 Oct 2014 at 20:45 - Score: 7

0.65l bottle. It looks really good in the glass this one. Totally black when it has settled and it has this really milkshake dark creamy dense super lacing head that just screams DRINK ME! Love the aroma as well. It's so deep and roasted, but also super sharp-hoppy and almost hedge like in a way. It has chocolate, vanilla, wood and a little bit of something burned. Just lovely. It's a bit higher on the carbonation than I had imagined and it's not hard to feel a heavy thickness in the mouth. Tastes beautiful. It's light - or a bit more than light burned. Lots of lightdrinkable qualities here also - something I actually wasn't expecting. It's not to thick or chewy, just filled with lots of flavor. No doubt that it's heavy roasted this. Almost some hard burned coffee beans with chocolate cake and a kick-you-in-the-teeth-bitterness in the finish and aftertaste. A wonderful delicious beverage. 04.01.2014

Bottle, Beers of Europe. Pitch black pour with a reserved tan head. Glorious beak of chocolate, roasted malts and fragrant hop. More excellent choc in the flavour alongside some well placed hoppage. Full bodied and smooth, just a real treat. This is a very tasty Impy that walks the walk....yeah it does rock.

Bottle, 22oz. A wonderful looking beer, black in color and with a dense, creamy, fingerthick light tan head leaving lacings. The aroma has some alcohol, with roasted malts, coffee, pine cones, orange peel and some sweetish notes. The flavor has a nice bitterness and hoppyness, some chocolate and sweetness, and roasted malts. Full-bodied and creamy, with some alcohol warmth. Lasting roasted and hop-bitter finish with sweetness in the back. A really nice one. Really nice. 140207

Bomber @ home. Pitch black color, oily. Thick, dense, beige head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma’s: heavy roast, ground coffee, piney hops, a bit soy sauce, a bit red fruit, chocoladevla. Retronasal there’s heavy roast, sour fruit, piney hops. Flavor is roasted, almost sour, fruity, light sweet, light bitter. In time the sourness all but disappears to make way for more mellow sweetness and chocolate. Medium bodied. Drinks quite easily actually. Finishes with ash and roasted bitterness.
