Bottle. It pours a bit unclear, golden color, and a creamy, off-white head with good retention and it leaves nice lacings. Sediments in the bottle leaves you with a lot of floaties. The aroma is disappointingly weak, first I thought my beer was too cold, but letting it get warmer doesn’t help much. It has a fruity and slightly piney hoppiness, but that’s almost it. A very weak grainy or malty note is also there. The flavor is very much like the aroma, weak and hoppy that is. It finishes with a nice bitterness, but before that, there’s not much but fruity and piney hops, giving some bitterness. A medium body makes it rather quaffable, but it certainly isn’t a beer to enjoy if you want a real treat. (070829)

(Cask at Akkurat, Stockholm) Pale amber colour with a foamy white head. Fruity nose with malty, slightly sweetish notes of wild berries, orange and earthy hops. Fruity taste with distinct notes of raspberries, hints of orange, caramel, toffee and earthy hops in the finish. Balanced sweetness throughout. A nice, but not overly exciting, bitter with a rather surprising raspberry character.

Bottle. Cherry malt aroma. Amber with a moderate head. Slight black cherry and malt flavor. Moderate hops and carbonation. Liked the fruitiness of this beer.

What a beer! This was definitely high on the list of most samples I had of a beer at the fest.
Great appearance. Perfectly bright, with a rich, white head that leaves good lace and sits atop a dark bronze body.
Lovely, clear, fresh, highly aromatic hoppy nose is not the typical tangerine, nectarine, lemon, but rather a much more deep, green, lush hoppiness with light resins and some sweet grapefruit. Very fragrant, with lightly sweet caramel malts in the background and just a wonderful balance overall. A slight touch of earthy, mineral-laden yeast is enjoyable as well. Absolutely flawless, with no alcohol noted.
As hoppy as the nose is, the malt is foremost present in the flavor. Dry, not overly so, but with a creamy, soft texture that belies the good attenuation. Hops are not as overly flavorful as the aroma is aromatic, but still provide plenty of leafy, brisk flavors (resin, grapefuit) and lots of bitterness on the end. Similar to the Fullers beers, the malt had a very polished, almost woody flavor to it, with very light biscuit notes. Some esters on the end as well. Perfectly engaging, tight carbonation leading to a very drinkable texture. Flawless.

Cask conditioned at the Bag O’ Nails, Bristol. A hazy, copper coloured beer with a foamy white head. Aroma was of floral hops. Flavours were more subdued, with a bit of citric hops and some residual sweetness. Palate was a touch watery. Not my favourite session beer.

500 ml brown bottle, courtesy of Cardinal pub, Stavanger. Bottle conditioned. Brewed with pale malt only. Golden colour, just a slight haziness, large off-white head. Nice hoppy aroma, hints of citrus, leather and maybe some oak. Distinct hoppy flavour throughout, some citrus and toffee, fruity finish. Bitter and long lasting aftertaste. A refreshing beer - not bad at all.

Bottled picked up in Herefordshire. Pours a warm golden colour with a white quite frothy head, definately quite hoppy but also citrusy lemonyness and good crisp bite the best of the RCH beers I’ve had but still I have had much better.

Cask gravity at Blakes, Dover. I am amazed that it has taken me so long to have this on the site as I have had it many times before. Golden/copper colour with no head. Hoppy, good citrus, some tangerine on the aroma, but there is some balancing caramel too. Quite nice in mouth with good acids and drying hop bitter finish. A good bitter

Bottled import version...utter crap! A weak herbal aroma, atop a light bodied beer, mild herbal flavors, virtually no malt at all, then a big empty strong bitter finish. Near straw color, with a huge pillowy whipped cream head. Dumped it.
