Pours deep golden with large head. Aroma is roses, tropical fruit (passionfruit, mango), peach, honey. Powerful, with sheer bitterness that lingers long in the aftertaste.

Keg at Brewdog in Shepherd’s Bush, London. A hazy golden/orange coloured pour with a medium white head on top. Hoppy, grapefruit, pine, caramel aroma. Tastes similar, hoppy, pine, grapefruit, caramel, slightly dry and bitter. A quality IPA.

Bottle. Hop Hideout, Sheffield. Cloudy, copper colour. Thick, bubbly, dense on top, lasting, cream coloured head. Bitter orange. Fusty, overripe mandarin. Some mineral. I do like Simcoe, but I’m not sure I’d have clocked it in this if I didn’t know. Drinks fresh, light, soft sweet, with a little resin bitterness. Towards the end, the bitterness rises, and lingers. Lacks the skunky hop I expected, but it’s still pretty good.

330ml bottle from Brewdog online shop. Pours clear golden amber, long-lasting white head. Aromas of tropical fruit, pineapple, lemon end of citrus, light pine. Taste has a good malt backbone to match the orange bitterness. Medium body, oily texture, full-mouth bitterness coating at the end. Just the ticket!
