With its firm, fine pored head, luminous gold and clear gleaming look, it cannot fail to awaken expectations of pure pleasure.

Strong malty nuances and floral hoppiness are imbued with accents of slight fruitiness. Despite its strength, Bergbock is pleasantly mouthcoating, with a powerful, but unobtrusive body. A highly discrete, finely bitter hoppiness transforms into a slight honey sweetness to conclude on a soft, harmonious aftertaste.

A harmonious light bock of character that cannot be put down after the first drink (16.5% original extract and 6.9% alcohol by volume).

500 ml bottle served in mug. Golden colour. Grain and hay malt aroma. Sweet taste with a bitter hint. Alcoholic taste not that dominant. Nice palate, very easy to drink for a Bock beer. Carbonation soft. Bittersweet finish. Not bad.

Pours clear and gold from the bottle. A relatively thin white crown forms then fizzes away. The aroma is dominated by the malt, though there is something floral present, and even mint. Taste is honey sweet and imparts a rich, buttery flavor that ends in a warming, lightly alcoholic finish. Decent, in unexciting. Would pair well with heavy, spicy, meaty winter dishes.

Bottle at Erzbierschof Zurich. Pours clear golden with a medium but shortlived head. Aroma is lightly hoppy and mostly malty, yet no particular aromas. Medium body, low carbonation, a bit flat and stale. Some cat piss. Light struck maybe? Palate is medium and doesn’t offer anything new.

BOTTLE 50 CL. Clear bright golden, small white head. Full-bodied, fine pale malts, grassy and slightly bitter. Unfortunately, it is too short on hops for a heller bock, making the alcohol feel a bit too harsh.

On tap at PIB 2016, pours a clear pale yellow with a medium off-white head. Aroma brings out light herbal notes and toasted malt. Flavour is along the same lines, with toasted malt, herbaceous notes and a little grass. Solid enough - very herbaceous all around. Solid.

500ml bottle. Pours clear gold, thin receding white head. Aroma is hay, sweet wort and floral elements. Taste is smooth, sweet malts that cater to my sweet tooth well. The grainy element makes itself known and the malty sweetness does get a bit much, but I still liked it.
