On tap at Hops, Crewe (though have drunk it from a bottle there recently too). Pours a very dark mahogany with minimal off-white head. Plenty of strands in the aroma – chocolate, plums, malts and dark biscuits. In the mouth it is quite sweet with a creamy texture – but also a little bitterness. Plenty of flavour dark fruits, figs, alcohol, malts and toffee plus hints of chocolate. Traces of raisins and strawberries come later leading to a fruity finish. This is nice !

What I love in this doppelbock is that the taste is not too smocked, not heavy, malty, toffee, well balanced and need a good cheese, 25.05.2016, drinking it at Lausanne, Prélaz, buying it at Paris.

Bottle @ Hopaholic. Pours deep mahogany with thick but quickly disappearing head. Nose is grainy and boozy with honey and fuits in it. Taste is quite similar, maybe a bit less complex and a tad too sweet. Closes with long lasting sweet finish, has average carbo and medium to heavy body. Nice one.

Such a nice aroma of malt, deep caramel, and biscuit. FLavour is full bodied, and rich. Loads of caramel malt, and bready malt. Wicked doppelbock, one of the best in the genre.
