The Monk’s Stout Dupont is part of the Brewery Dupont’s history. Indeed, it was produced in the 50’s. The aim is to revive this stout while maintaining the name and the design of the time.
Created in 2011, this dark beer is characterized by a dry and bitter taste. The use of roasted malts lends a well-pronounced taste of coffee and chocolate. The hop flavours remain perceptible though.
Top fermentation beer with a refermentation in the bottle.

It is a regular stout, really dry, toasted malt, coffee, hop, on the classical way, as usual nice dark body, perfect for a lovely night, 06.05.17, at Prélaz.

Draught at monk's cafe: pours black with beige head. Very light. Fairly dry and somewhat bitter. A little Belgian in character. Easy to drink. Lightly bitter aftertaste. Herbal and chocolatey nose.

honestly not good. Pours a deep brown, aroma is burnt sugar. Beer is very light & fizzy, poor mouthfeel, bitter & just not that good. The aftertaste lingers for ages & is bitter with a hint of mold? Lots of something dark in the bottom of the glass too, drank 6 months before the BB date.
Would not buy again.

Nearly completely opaque black with porous tan head. Coffee, cola, coffee on the nose. Quite dry taste. Dark malts, liquorice, high carbonation. Bitter coffee aftertaste. I brewed one close to this once and was disappointed... Not very pleasant.

Draught from Ginger man. Poured dark, roasted malts, a bit of cofee. OK but nothing amazing.

Roasty, nutty aroma. Light licorice and anise. Solid mouth feel, soft carb. Medium bitter finish, great toasted, roasted malt aftertaste. Nice stout.

Bottle at Les Berthom, Troyes. Aroma of dark malt, lots of cacao powder, hint of roast, some lactic notes, hint of coffee. Flavour is only slightly sweet with an above moderate coffee bitter finish. Rather dry but also a bit creamy. Body is light to medium. Light cacao Stout, drinkable but unimpressive.
