Saddleback takes advantage of the (still) lower HMRC beer duty category of 3.4%. All the beer duty saving, is passed on to you the Publican. Munich, Cara & Crystal malts boost the depth of malt flavour. British hops create a traditional & sustainable bitter.

Cask at White Horse, Banbury. This has the classic “bitter brown” colouring, but it’s also hazy with a scummy white head. Malts and caramel in the aroma. Sweet and malty in the mouth with cereal grains, toffee and overripe fruit. Some bitterness in the finish. A bit bland really.

Cask at the Wild Boar, Warwick. Poured a lovely clear golden brown with a white creamy head and some lace. Very little in the way of an aroma, but a lovely smooth, refreshing, malty flavour with I swear a hint of licorice! Maybe it’s just me. A gorgeous beer though and a perfect English bitter. This is so much better than the taster I had at the brewery earlier this year. Well done guys, a real winner! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
