This beer is an amalgamation of styles; brown/porter/APA. Five distinct malts, including two from Belgium, give this beer added complexity and depth. We also add oatmeal to this beer to give it a smooth texture not usually associated with this type of beer. We add large amounts of American finishing hops to give Bender a citrus hop aroma because... we like hops. This is a session beer weighing in around 5% alcohol and 25 IBUs. Can from Footbalm - Thanks! Pours a dark brown with a modest tan head. Light lacing. My first impression is the aroma of wheat bread with some nuts, as well as a little maltiness. Tastes of a brown ale with solid malt, toffee, roasted nuts, and some bittersweet cocoa. Nice creamy feel.

Can. A deep red beer with a thin brown head. The aroma is sweet malty with primary notes of berries. The flavor is sweet malty with light notes of metal, leading to a dry bitter finish. Thanks to yespr for bringing this to Denmark.

Can courtesy of Stine: Poured a cloudy dark brown color ale with a nice foamy head with better then average retention. Aroma of caramel malt with light bitter hops. Taste is also dominated by caramel with some light bitter hops. Body is quite full with some great carbonation. Overall, I was a bit disappointed with this one considering the brilliance of the two other offerings I had from this fine brewer.

(Can 47,3 cl) Courtesy of yespr. Pours a beautiful, clear chestnut brown with a tall and handsome, dense, beige head. Fresh and very fruity nose. Medium body, perhaps a bit flat in carbonation, with fresh accents of nuts and vitamins. The finish is rather bitter. 290607

Sample from tap at the brewery. Pours dark brown to black with a brown head. Aroma is roasted malt. Flavour is dominated by roasted malts but has some hoppiness sticking out. Bitter finish, but clearly more mild than the coffee version.

Big thanks to Quake1028 for bringing this cool 16oz can along.
Pours very deep amber with nice tan head. Slightly sweet caramelized malt and slightly nutty aroma. The aroma is a bit on the light side. The flavor has that nuttiness along with a soft rye-ish quality that I’ll take as being the oatmeal. Tasty brown ale with plenty of interest.

Can from IrishBoy (thanks!) - dark amber with a tan head - roasty, nutty aroma, with hints of wood and vanilla - smooth, creamy mouthfeel, with a medium body, nicely bittered, with a slight bit of roasty/smokey notes to compiment it - well-intergrated flavors of hazelnut and vanilla - slight herbal/spice qualities - very well balanced - I would love to have regular access to this.

16 oz. can. Very complex beer out of a Can. Pour is deep brown with tan head. Flavor is oatmeal and malt, and exceptionally smooth. On top of being very smooth, many different flavors are found. Floral, citrus, herbs. Certainly hop in the finish. Very well constructed beer, one of the better I have had in awhile.

Very good, very fine, nitro-like creamy, dark cream-coloured head, slightly irregular over very dark brown beer with some faint red-brown highlights. Dry hoppy nose, bit of coffee, creamcake hinting at underlying sweetness. Whiffs of liquorice and caramel aroma’s. Again a combination of dry hops, coffee, oatmeal (indeed) and the typical burnt-sourish flavours of stout. Two things surprise me: the effortless going-over from on stage in the taste to the next: very good balance, as well as the accuracy of the commercial description on the can (not the above). Retronasal a lot of caramel. Velvety, creamy MF and full body. Nice oatmeal stout. Thanks, Dave.
