A black beer, a head is medium and brown. Aroma is intensive, liquorice, salt liquorice, barrel, some dried fruits, vanilla, hint of whiskey. Taste has great smoothness of maltyness, salt liquorice, some barrel and dried fruits, hint of chocolate. Full bodied, not stickyness, velvety palate. Huge beer, brilliant.

22oz so 65cl bottle from Etre Gourmet web shop. F: thin, dark tanned, quick gone to some bubbles. C: dark, opaque. A: a lot of chocolate, cocoa, bit dark dried fruits, whisky, vanilla, bit woody, dark caramel, toffee, coffee touch, complex. T: full malty base, chocolate, cocoa, toffee, whisky, vanilla, light tannins, dried fruits, roasted tones, caramel, bit warming alcohol, light oily mouthfeel with good drinkability relatively to ABV, very nice complex brew here, fully enjoyed.

Bottled at home. Black with brown head. Roasted with chocolate, some coffee. Quite heavy for the abv, or is it abv? Very light touch of booze running through. I would rave about this a couple of years ago.

Black with a fleeting, frothy, light brown head. Aroma is a mix of fudge and turpentine. Underneath: oak and vanilla. Taste is sweet up front, bittersweet at the finish with a mild tart undertone. Warm and a touch boozy. Heavy body, very mild carbonation, virtually an oil slick in a glass. Mixed feelings about this one: no off notes excepting that turpentine but it feels too workmanlike, uninspired. Maybe it’s still just to early in the season for me to be drinking these heavy beers.

Bottle at home. Opaque black color, brown head that diminishes fairly quickly. Aroma is malts, wood, bourbon, some raisin notes in there and maybe lightly vanilla. Lovely. Flavor is similar: malts, bourbon, vanilla a bit, some sweetish notes (from the bourbon?). And still full bodied, full flavored, medium carbonation, medium body. Delicious beer! And not to kissed: 9.4% ABV instead of those goddamn 14% and over stouts that just make you drunk as hell. I'm not 21 anymore y'all, a 10% RIS is more than enough these days. ;) --- Beer merged from original tick of Barrel-Aged B.O.R.I.S. Opaque black color, average sized off-white to beige head. Aroma and flavor are malts, bourbon, soft roast. Very pleasant.
Sweet, honey, alcohol, chocolate, burn, mellow, woody
Boozy, not too much sugar, nice clean bite.
Roasty coffee, a bit of chocolate, maltiness. Strong bourbon bite, a bit boozy. Pretty good but nothin special.
