Bottle from the De Molen shop on the 17.56 Brussels - St Pancras, post Borefts, 29/09/13. Hazed amber with a moderate off white head. Nose is caramel, grass, orange, light soap, toasted malts. Taste comprises bitter orange, lemon rind, grass, hint of caramel, soapy, citric fruit. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, dry finish with light bitter tones. So so bitter, not really true to style - too much citrus fruit and the soapy tones detracted from my enjoyment of this one.

Bottle from Good Beer. Dry, mineral nose, earthy hops, grass and light citrus, some caramel. Medium amber color with a low head. Light malt flavor, citrus hops, caramel, chocolate. Rather thin and quite metallic, a bit dirty as well, but hops and malt balance well. OK, but nothing special.

Aroma: Clean aroma of (Belgian?) yeast, orange and a hint of white pepper.

Appearance: Hazy golden body with a massive off-white head. Light carbonation. Lots of sticky lacing marks.

Taste: Subtle flavour of grass, straw and lime. Pear and coriander.

Palate: Thin to medium body with a very oily mouthfeel. Flat carbonation.

Overall: It’s listed as a Bitter but I think it’s more of a Pale Ale. It’s certainly more hoppy and complex than all other Bitters I’ve tried.

Draught at Ölrepubliken, Göterborg, on April 9, 2013.During the De Molen Tap Takeover event.Hazy to cloudy copper color, white head. Hoppy, malty, apple, hints of solvents taste. Weak mouthfeel, low bitterness. Phenolic aftertaste. Light acidic, stable, nutty scent.A bit bland and boring, though could work as a thirst clencher likely.

Bottled. Golden colour with a large white head, decent duration. Aroma is hoppy, floral notes and also citrus hints. Flavor is bittery from the beginning to the end, fruity notes dominating citrus and peaches notes. The final is moderate bittery and slightly dry.
