Much like the alien mystery found at the bottom of the Baltic Sea, this Baltic Porter boasts an anomaly of its own. Honey lends an extraterrestrial dimension to this earthly porter, balancing out the sweetness with a slightly dry finish.

Tasting at Matt's; synthetic cork
Dark brown color. A bit earthy, some caramel, a bit oily, lightly sweet, not much depth, not enough Baltic Porter character.

12 oz. bottle, pours a deep dark brown with a small beige head. Nose brings out toasted caramel, bready malt, and a hint of brown sugar. Flavour is along the same lines, with bready malt, toasted caramel, and yeast. Not overly complex, but it works well. Solid.

Sampled on draft this beer poured an orange-brown color with a large foamy orange-tan head that left excellent lacing. The aroma was sweet and tangy with caramel, alcohol and fruit. The flavor was sweet and tangy with toasted caramel, dark fruits and alcohol. Long finish. Moderately full bodied. Solid.

Bottle at Uptown. Pours a dark brown color with a small beige head. A nice nose of roast and chocolate. Sweet, licorice, lots of chocolates, some anise, honey and earthy in the finish. Very smooth. I like it.
