Cask @ Old Fountain. Smooth mild malty beginning. Round and smooth, Fresh malty ale body. The aftertaste is Ale with caramel, round and fresh, smooth and malty with not too much sweetness. Nice!

Clear golden color with white head. Aroma is English hops, a nice caramel malt base behind. Taste is caramely, malty, earthy, bitter. A nice classic Pub Ale.

Cask@Wibbas down inn JDW, Wimbledon - amber pour with good sized white head. Aroma and taste is toasty malty, twiggy herbal hoppy notes, caramel, nutty, some dark dried fruity nuances, have had before many moons ago with variable quality but never rated, and never at the condition on this rate which was spot on. Great stuff.

Cask at many Fuller’s pubs around London. A true classic. Pours clear copper-gold with a frothy, white head. The nose has a bit of toasted leaves and grains, understated bready malts, traces of orange peel. Light sweet flavor with mild leafy bitterness, further lightly toasted bread, impressions of British yeast, citrus fruit. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Wonderfully balanced on the finish, with some crispy bread, biscuits, leaves, mild citrus. When on form, this is a superlative beer.

Cask at The Swan, Lancaster Gate. Drank this one plenty of times in the past, so thought I’d better rate it. It pours clear amber with a decent white head. The nose is toasty grain, brown bread, nuttiness and some sweet caramel/toffee. The taste is a bit bitter upfront, wood, earth, leather, nut, caramel, brown bread, toasty grain and light varnish with a dry finish. Medium body and fine carbonation. A good gateway cask all. It is well-rounded and drinkable, but relatively uneventful. OK.

Golden color with a creamy off white head. Toffee and a bit hoppy nose. Mellow sweet malty flavour with a some toffee and pleasant hoppy. A bit soft carbonation. Nice easy drinkable session ale.

Cask at the moon under water jdw Watford. Can’t believe I’ve not ticked this yet. Light copper coloured pour with a lasting loose off white head. Aroma is nice nutty light caramel Malts dried fruits, raisin, English yeast esters. Flavour is composed of semi sweet nutty bisvuity malts, solid layered malt profile, light caramel notes, dried fruit, berry. Palate is semi sweet, soft, good cask condition. Solid cask bitter. Archetypal for the style.

On tap at The Admiralty, London. Slight hop nose, still bronze beer with solid white head. Good body with amazing taste! Hop bitterness gives way to toffee malt, but the hops stay as an undernote. Excellent ale, moreish.

Cask. Parcel Yard, King’s Cross. Clear, light copper. Bubbly white head. Sweet, caramel biscuit. Some grassy hop. Soft, creamy mouthfeel. Gives me a headache beer like this. It’s light, but hard work. I can’t explain it. It’s probably me. Didn’t stop me getting bladdered on it in Manchester, at a boozer that went and got blown up in the bombings. Six pints, I think it was. Quid a pint. Jesus. That was a while ago...
