Kriek Boon Mariage Parfait consists of 1 year-old heavy lambic flavoured with overripe cherries, 400 grams per litre. Longer aging in small oak barrels gives it its special flavour. The lambic is bottled and stored in an air-conditioned room for six months of secondary fermentation. Kriek Mariage Parfait has an alcohol volume of 8%. It keeps for a minimum 20 years, and is ready to drink after about 2 years in the bottle. This is perfection in kriek beers. Try it and admit that it surpasses the best wine.
The casks give this beer its fine oaky flavour with hints of vanilla and cloves. It boasts a wide mouth with a warm body and roundness reminiscent of dried cherries and wild tastes. This is soft mildness personified.

Deep red with mahogany hints, quite opaque, not an especially attractive colour. Gets very little head and it disappears very fast. Average to good intensity in the aroma: a soft feeling with a slightly perceptible dough-like base, soft/wet undergrowth notes with a sweaty hint, cherries (probably not as bright/dominant as expected, but definitely there), lighter citric notes with a hint of prickliness to them, Boon's signature almond note. Overall a decently rich, decently intense and quite well defined aroma. Taste notes follow the aroma closely. Medium to high sweetness, moderate sourness as typical with Boon lambics: moderately citric and lightly lactic, not getting acetic notes. Overall a pretty soft, pleasant sourness, with a prominent but not over the top sweetness. Medium to slightly above medium bodied; pretty delicate, quite low, slightly tingly carbonation. Feels slightly soft in the mouth with a hint of liveliness. Overall impression: pleasant, very approachable kriek, but still very much well made and quite interesting. Nice one.

Barwa czerwono-miedziana, zamglone, piana w kolorze złamanej bieli, dość obfita, dość trwała. W aromacie bretty, stajnia, siano, owoce. W smaku wytrawne, kwaśność do średniej, sporo brettów, lekkie nuty owocowe, głównie wiśnie, czuć udział drewna i tanin. Wysycenie średnie do wysokiego, ciało w normie. Bardzo dobre, aczkolwiek nieco wyższa kwaśność by tutaj nie zaszkodziła.

Közepes, nem túl tartós hab, vörös szín. Meggyes, animális, istállós illat. Meggyes, animális ízek, hordós jegyekkel. Közepesen testes, közepesen szénsavas, enyhén kesernyés. Nagyon kellemes, meggyesektől szokatlanul száraz sör, nagyon jó egyensúllyal.

Bottle from Delhaize, vintage 2021. Hazy dark red, stable, frothy, pink head. Aroma of sour cherry, blackcurrant, blueberry juice, marzipan, wood, malt vinegar, cheese. Taste has very sour cherry, cherry juice, blueberry & lemon connecting with a faint bitter cherry stone aspect and funky wood & (malt) vinegar. Tart finish, lots of woody tannins, juicy cherry and grape skin. Medium body, moussy texture, average carbonation. Elegant & delicious.

Même si je la trouve quelque peu trop acide pour moi, je préfère sans conteste cette Kriek à innombrables autre Kriek trop sucrées qui fleurissent un peu partout. Les arômes de cerise sont de plus appréciables et bien présents sans faire pour autant artificiels. Sur le visuel nous sommes sur un rosé légèrement voilé avec une effervescence moyennement soutenue et une mousse très peu présente. Le nez est sur une alliance vinaigre, cerise avec une touche de boisé. En bouche, si l'acidité reste marquée, celle-ci permet tout de même aux arômes de s'exprimer sur une complexité honorable. Bref, même si j'atteins ici les limites pour moi de l'acidité, cette Kriek a de bonnes qualités.
