This beer is another one of those beers that has been around since our early years. Though, it has gone through some changes over time. We wanted to brew an American IPA. We wanted it to have and aroma from which you could pick up everything that you like with the style. To achieve this, we hopped and dry-hopped it with five, high alpha acid, American hops. And, almost by default, it got its name. High Five! Initially, this beer clocked in at 7.5%. But in order to make it a little lighter we took it down to 6.5.%. And, while the hops are still the same, we've increased the amount of hops and dry-hops numerous times. Because, times change. And, even though you got a hop-punch from this in 2007, the amount of hops in it then would not have given you one now. But since it's more, a lot more, you do!

Bottle at home. As "Dugges High Five" at 6.5% abv. Aroma is soft fruity hops, bit sweetish fruits, pine resin, citrus, orange, biscuity malt. Flavour is moderate sweet and moderate to medium bitter. Body is medium. Not extremely hoppy but mild, with soft sweetish citrus, malt and pine. Very smooth and easy.

Bottle from Trembling Madness York. Deep amber in colour, with a large, off-white, head. Citrus hops, tangerine and pineapple fruit, biscuity malts and a dryish finish. A well-balanced beer.

Bottle 330ml – Pours a hazy golden colour with a small white head. The aroma is malty with solid hop notes; pine, citrus and herbs. A sweetish taste, citrusy grapefruit and pine flavours, with a solid long citrus hop bitterness. Oily in the mouth, medium body and soft carbonation.

Tap at Horvati. Hazy orange-golden, white head. Sadly, the aroma is gone, oxidation, malt, herbal touches. Nice peachy notes and pollen over obvious heavier maltiness. Some nice herbal notes too. Some peppery bitterness, growing stronger. Nice... Just not 100% fresh (or it's way too malty).

Donkergeel troebel bier met mooie schuimkraag. Smaak is bitter hoppig, licht zoet en frutiig met iets van abrikoos en kruiden (kardemon, koriander). Verrassend goed bier!
