Pouring gold with a fluffy white head this assertive German Pilsner is made with Weyermann Barke Pilsner malt and a selection of Noble hops.

Crisp, clean, with notes of honey, graham cracker, biscuit, and a refreshing and lengthy bitterness, Simple Things is made the way a beer should be…with water, malt, hops, yeast, and time.

Can pour at East Side Beer Fest. Pours hazy gold with white head. Floral grass and cracker malts on the nose. Flavour has dry grass, a bit floral, dry cracker malts. Decent enough, but nothing exceptional.

Poured from 473mL can (pkg Nov 20, 2020). Clear blonde with full white head. Crisp pilsener and cracker malt with mild grass hops. Hint of metallic-ness (which may be from the age, will have to re-rate). Pretty decent nonetheless.

341 can. Pours a hazy gold with light head. Aromas of grainy malts. Flavors follow same but with a bit of fruity hops leaning towards pineapple.

Aroma is soft oranges and a bit of citrus lager. Has good white foam and a semi-cloudy yellow body. Flavour is soft honey sweetness with a few lager notes and a big of vegetable hop perfume buried in there. Dry finish. This is a fine pilsner on the sweet side.

Taster at the brewery. Pours an almost clear blonde with a white head. Aroma is malty and grainy with some smoky and flowery notes. Taste is similar with fairly high bitterness. Good example of the style of which I am not a fan, unfortunately :-)

On tap at Darby's Gastown, pours a clear blonde with a small white head. Aroma brings out crisp crackery malt upfront, with a nice grassy hop punchiness as well. Flavour is clean, with a light grassy hoppiness and very nice crisp crackery malt base. Unassuming but clean and super easy drinking. Reminds of Persephone Amarillo Pilsner. Really great stuff.

Clean blond colour. Maybe I'm less impressed than I was the first time, but it still has a very respectable malt and hop character; sure, it could be better with a bit more Pilsner malt chewiness, some crispness, some more spicy character from the hop and a bit less vegetable bitterness. But it's a solid option.

Hazy blond color. Crisp aroma, blending creamy malts and grasy noble hops. Crackery malts, there seem to be a minimal residual sugar, the noble hop is evident; a touch of chicory bitterness in the final is the only note out of tune.
Serious Pilsner. I gladly had it side to side with the Persephone Amarillo Pilsner, so that this one appears more authentic, without the delicate fruitynotes of the Amarillo.
Excellent.

Shimmering pale, thin head. Nice pale malts, snappy German hops. Refreshing. Maybe it's because I was coming off a long bike ride, but this was really nice.

Draft - Very light grains and malts. Clear pale gold with a nice white head. Bitter up front, touch of sweetness and some bitterness and a dry finish.
