Bomber from Costco. Aroma is caramel, garbage, dark fruit, leather, licorice. Pours black with a one finger tan head that falls after a minute into a collar of big-bubbly foam and a little lace. Taste starts out sweet before a savage bitterness takes over; flavors of chocolate, vegetables, bread, licorice, raisin. Kind of a weird beer. The offnotes of garbage and vegetables fade into the background after awhile, leaving behind a drinkable--but not all that good--extremely bitter dark beer.

Tap @ Edge. Dark brown, near black color with a small brown head. Nose is hoppy, lots of pine bits in front of the toasted malt and cocoa. Same in the taste, lots of hops and piney comes to mind. Good roast level and minimal sweetness. Different than the norm, reminds me of the Stone Self Righteous Ale, and in a good way. I’d have this again.
