Unlike a real rodeo, the aroma of passion fruit, peaches and mangos fills the air with this sessionable ale. Rodeo is a single-hop rye, pale-style beer. Citra hops give it a tropical fruit nose and flavor with a spicy, rye kick. This is a sessionable beer, which means this might be your first, but it most definitely won’t be your last Rodeo. 12oz can pours with a hazy (hop haze?) gold to copper to orange juice looking body that supports a thin off white head. The aroma is on the juicy citrus side with sweet tangelo, grapefruit and a dash of mango mixing with thin sweet malts and a mild spicy hoppiness. Nice. The taste starts with a pleasing load of citrus hop bitterness from a grapefruit to tangelo like hoppiness and then picking up modest citrus hop flavors. These notes move to midway where mild mango and spicy hop surface and flow into the finish along with a modest and brief flash of grainy to sweet maltiness. This is a solid session brew. Well done. Plenty of body and depth and hoppiness.

12oz can picked up at Whole Foods in SLC
Pours slightly cloudy orange/golden with a medium sized off-white head and lots of lacing. Aroma is toasted malts, citrus, rye and pepper. Silky mouthfeel that is fruity, citrus, bready with a sharp rye bitterness that turns sour in the finish
A nice drinking Pale Ale with lots of flavor

No way you would suspect there was rye in this. A nice amber ale appearance, and characteristics of an IPA and amber ale. None of the rye sourness usually associated with the grain. Very, very good for the style.

On tap at Chicacago Connection on 4th in Boise. Hazy light orange/amber. Small sandy colored head. Plenty of hop aroma and flavor. Decent bitterness. Easy on the distinctive rye. More like a sligty robust Pale ale. Good though.

Sample at GABF 10/13/2012, thanks to Bluemeow76 for assistance with note-taking. This beer is a hazy dark amber color with a thin off-white head and spotty lacing. Aroma of malt and spiced hops. Light body with flavors of mildly spicy rye, grainy malt and hops. The finish is mildly hoppy with a spice aftertaste. Decent overall.
