(bottle, 33cl, vintage 2013) Hazy, ruby amber golden colour with a medium-sized and tanned foamy head. Mildly toasted dark malty and fruit-accented aroma with notes of dark and red berries, shades of caramel, chocolate and alcohol. Bitter-sweet flavour, medium bodied with a smooth and well-matured carbonation. Dark malt-character with mildly toasty notes, bread crusts, a subtle fruity touch and a whiff of smoke, bitter and delicately sweet and toasty finish with a slightly fruity edge and shy traces of alcohol and chocolate. Nice old/strong Ale. 11.II.14

Tasty bock beer with a nice taste of dark fruits, raisin and some herbs I think.

Bottle from ABC Beers, Den Haag. Poured a dark chesnut brown with a frothy tan head. The aroma is rich red berry fruit and yeast. The flavour is medium bitter with some roasted malts, liqourice and nuts on the smooth and refreshing palate. The pleasant bitterness lingers in the finish for a great beer. I really rather liked this.

33 cl bottle @ home. Deep brown color. Short, beige head. Aroma’s: caramel/toffee, some red fruit, hints of smoke, slightly herbal. Flavor is medium sweet, slightly roasted and somewhat bitter. Medium bodied. Finishes dry and medium to full bitter. Not really a bock, but quite nice anyway.

On tap at In de Wildeman. Muddy brown colour, thin off-white head. Aroma of dark fruits, roosvicee, light roasted malts, cocoa powder. Flavour is medium sweet at first, roosvicee, dark fruits, then becomes more bitter, dry, almost chalky, roasted malts, cold coffee. Light to medium-bodied. Decent bock.
