Bottle from Union Liquors. Hazy golden body piled high with a fluffy head. light hop aroma recalls a pilsner. Taste is extra crisp, nice snap on the finish. Lingering bitterness. Could easily pass for a nice German pils.

On tap @ Beer Temple, sample size. Hazy golden color. Dense white head leaving lacerings. Aroma’s: fruity, citrus, with retronasal some grain, a bit (old) malty sweet). Flavor is mild bitter, light citrus sour, some grainy sweetness. Light bodied. Finishes with some caramel, somewhat dry, rather bitter. Perhaps this wasn’t too fresh, but decent enough.

Bottle from Erzbierschof Zurich. A very smooth and drinkable pale ale indeed. Spring-like aroma hops give this beer a fresh feeling, carbonation and malts are matching. Pines, some citrus. Medium-bodied, but never boring. Keeps its thing throughout. This beer does literally nothing wrong, yet it fails to excite me. It is very, very solid though.

Draught @ Sunswick 35/35. Slightly cloudy pale yellow, with small whitish foamy head, faint citrus aroma, medium carbonation, vanilla and sweetish citrus taste, thin body, medium bitter finish. Very smooth and drinkable.

Tap at Craft Heads. Clear gold with a finger of white foam that dissipates fairly quickly. Big citrus nose with white grapefruit, lemon, and iyokan dominating. Average carbonation with a medium to light body. Bitter and fruity on the palate with lots of citrus coming through the finish. The finish leaves bitter pithy citrus notes lingering.

Bocktown. So th’smith is all over western PA now? Go figger. Pale, smell is sweet perfume. Initially I think its getting strong but then at a moments notice it starts to get better. Medium bitterness builds. Cleaner, more refreshing beer. Tad medicinal on the finish.

Lilly and honey nose, subtle clay hints. Clear amber, medium head. Lillies, dry. Light body, easy carbonation. More of a session IPA than an APA. Tasty, but lacks a malt balance.

Nicely done and excellently balanced. Lots of pine and citrus and a touch of amaretto. Pours golden with great head and lacing. Good malt backbone. Very well done, and excellent drinakability. Too bad this is so rare in my usual stomping grounds - I’d drink this by the pitcher. Tap at blind tiger.

Clear golden, small white head. Caramely aroma, piney hops and peach coming through. Similar flavour, pine and grapefruit, good and slightly rough bitterness. Juicy at first but then more and more dry. Light body, almost a little watery. Still good.
