English IPA
Bridge Road Brewers have created their own take on a more traditional beer style – India Pale Ale, originally a heavily hopped beer developed for the long haul from England to India by boat.
Fresh hops were added to the barrel and the alcohol was bolstered to ensure the beer went the distance on the high seas. Bling, is a huge beer, with all the bells and whistles. This ale is armed to the teeth with hops and studded with 24 carrot modified malts. At Bridge Road we've gone all out to make an IPA that screams hops and malt but still keeps balance in mind. Try matching this beer it with anything spicy or enjoy this malt and hop mouth full on its own. We love it, and hope you can too.

Light grapefruit aroma with a little biscuit and caramel. Quite a sharp citrus taste, plus a nice malt backbone.

24/10/2022. Schooner at Pyrmont Bridge Hotel, Sydney. Pours hazy pale orange gold with a small frothy white head. Aroma of orange, mango, citrus, pineapple, grapefruit, husky edge. Medium sweetness and light to moderate bitterness. Moderate body, a little watery, gently fizzy. Solid IPA.

330ml bottle - Pours a light hazy orange amber colour with a small foamy beige head. Aroma is caramel malts with marmalade and pine hop notes. Moderately sweet malt base, citrus and marmalade flavours with a citrus and pine hop bitterness in the finish.

Deep amber color. Big perfumy nose, that is slightly tart dried apricot and cotton candy. Good malt presence with apricots and cherries. Much more of a man amber than an ipa.

Bottle 330ml (bottled 07.06.2017). A little bit hazy, copper colour with ecru colour head. Hoppy in aroma with resin character and caramel malty note behind. Caramel in taste with low to medium, resin bitterness. Beer is smooth, delicate, light body but excluding caramel nothing happens in the beer. Average IPA definitely in east coast style.

Bottled@The Hobbit Tasting. Slightly hazy deep golden colour with a small white head. Aroma is citrus, some tropical fruits, mild resin and wood as well as some bready malts. Flavour is tropical fruits, some grassy bitterness and mild crisp biscuity and toffeeish malts to it. Quite standard and no flaws.

On tap at the Local Taphouse Sydney, pours a hazy amber orange with a small white head. Aroma brings out floral hops and resinous notes. Flavour brings out dry bready malts and some light resinous hops. Fairly malty for a regular IPA, but it's still well-balanced. Good.

Amber, hazy. Thin head. Very toasty nose. Described as English IPA but smells more like Centennial to me. Taste is grapefruit rind bitterness with toasty, citrusy aromatics.
