Cloudy and very dark, no head at all. Liquorice, espresso, dark sugared fruits, brandy, light smell but very strong taste. Later much more sour. Palate is medium light, no carbonation and long finish. Looks terrible, is completely flat, but tastes not as bad. Probably a bad bottle. Drank 2/3 and poured the rest down the drain.

Rating from 2010: Süßlich-karamellisierter Geruch, malzig-süßlicher AT, Der HT ist vollmundig-süffig, schön röstmalzig-karamellig, lakritzig, dabei angenehm mild. Der NG ist langanhaltend, röstmalzig-lakritzig und nur ganz leicht herb. --> 11/12/12/11

Bottle. Frothy lightbrown good mostly deminishing head. Black colour. Moderate malty and light hoppy aroma. Chocolate dominating. Moderate bitter flavor. Some chocolate and roast. Average moderate bitter finish. Oily palate and a litle too fizzy.

Bottle at ABC Beers, Den Haag. Poured a crude oil colour with a big frothy short-lived tan head. The aroma is big malty leading to a huge malty chocolate medium bitter flavour. A super beer that will be adored by malt lovers.

33cl bottle @ home. Pitch black color, lightly brown head that lasts for a decent while. Smell and taste malts, lightly roasty, decently bitter, slightly chocolate and moccha. Quite nice actually. Medium carbonation, medium to full body.

33 cl bottle @ Gastropub Tuulensuu. Rated on 14.08.2010
Aroma has roasted notes, coffee and some earthy notes too. Flavour is somewhat sweet with coffee, roasted malt, some dark chocolate and distant earthy notes. Luckily this was not as ’Belgian’ I expected this to be.

Bottle shared from Deanso. Pours black with a thick tan head. Aroma of chocolate, Roasted malt, licorice. Flavour is medium sweet and bitter. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

0.33l bottle kindly provided by MrHangover. This is a deep dark brown - almost black beer with a big and quite fluffy light brown head. The first thing hitting the old nose-buds is sour cream! That's definitely a new one! Also, I get light roasted malts with tones of both chocolate, umami and licorice, but that sour cream really made an impression. The taste is much more classic roasted, sweet and dark. Lots of roasted malts and some leather couch. It's big bubbly average+ carbonated and it has a mild oily texture in the mouth. A bit almost dry earthy hints near the finish, and a subtle acidic tone in the aftertaste. This was actually quite a nice one. 07.07.2012

at yespr tasting. pitch dark, smooth brown head. roasted malty aroma, faint licorice, sort of woody. nice stout aroma. flavor is malty, roasted malty, flowery, good balance, good roasted malty aftertaste.

Bottle 33 cl. Courtesy of yespr. Pours an opaque pitch black with a dense beige head. Sweet roasty nose with some vanilla. Medium body, sweet roast, a little coffee and agai vanilla. Hardly any hops. 260911
