Bottle, 4.8%. Fruity aroma, has a little paint thinner to it. Almost black colour, seems clear. Big stable light brown head. The flavour is roasted and creamy to begin worth. Turns more bitter with a coffee note and a touch of sourness.

Bottle from Old Shambles Tavern in York. Appearance - opaque black with a lovely fluffy fawn head. Nose - dark chocolate digestive biscuits. Taste - more of the same. A touch of toffee and honeycomb too. Palate - medium bodied with a creamy texture and a long balanced dry finish. Overall - a really tasty stout.

(Bottle) Black colour with rocky, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with notes of chocolate, black rye bread, roasted oats and a touch of orange peel. Roasted, malty taste with dark chocolate, black rye bread, liquorice, coffee, orange peel and a balanced roasty bitterness in the finish. Medium body, quite dry. Tasty and well balanced stout. 330ml bottle shared by Finn. Good looking white a stable tan-coloured head to a jet black body. Sold lacework. Roasted dark malty aroma dominated by chocolate. Mid-sweet taste of dark chocolate and cocoa followed by roasted bitterness towards the ending. A bit creamy in the mouth. A tasty, well made stout (Tromsø 24.10.2015).
