[9/25/16] Draught sample at Borefts After Festival 2016 in Rotterdam. Amber. Aroma of caramel, leafy hops. Sweet flavor, caramelly, with bitter leafy hops. Medium-bodied.

Thick-set yellow head over amberish metallic orange-golden beer. Sweet cake, caramel, exotic fruit with glazing. Bitter hoppey beer with a liqueurish background. Preserved orange, orangepeel. Quite slick, good body, medium to good carbonation, slightly tickling sensation. Nice. Do I purchase fluffy rabbit slippers, now?

330 ml. bottle. BBF 30 12 16. Deep dark lightly hazy amber, creamy tanned head. Nose is strongly bitter herbal pine resin, very thick resin, almost medicinal quality, strongly herbal. Taste is quite bitter, strongly bitter herbal, bitter pine resin, herbal, touch dark bread, caramel in the back, dried mandarin peel, toffee. Body is rather malty, strong beer with thick herbal & pine resin components. Interesting definitely, different from what I expected given the Kiwi hops but very interesting & good all the same + in line with other Uiltje beer in the same style. I don’t sleep with my socks on but I am not averse to hugging a stuffed animal.

Bottle. Cotteridge. Amber colour. Light haze. Beautifully messy, clingy, oily and viscous, lasting, white head. Looks fantastic. Nose has chewy, slightly boozy, robust, old citric fruit hop. Bit phenolic. Greasy, hoppy, and a bit dirty. Taste is sweet, chewy, fruity and bitter. All in one go. Smooth, rich and chewy. Stays on the right side of sickly sweet. Just. Oily, fruity, bittersweet finish. Great stuff.

Bottle from Cotteridge Wines, Cotteridge, Birmingham, consumed at home Tuesday 7th June 2016 Another hazy dark amber beer this time the head is a little more showy, though still swiftly departs. Really thick mouthfeel, really oily and slicky and even a little sticky. The hoppiness shines throughout and there is a little floralness going on, some bittersweet (edging towards malty sweet) tropicalness going on here. Soft mouthfeel, this is verging on Barley Wine territory, very, very good. A7 A4 T8 P5 Ov16 4.0

Bottle from Cotteridge Wines; hazy dark amber pour with a bubbly beige head, aroma has sweet caramel and a hint of pine, taste toffee, some sweet malts, toffee, dank pine, some citrus coming through, quite big.
