Editor’s note: new and reworked edition, new label, new hop bill and new gourmet coffee from the Coffee Collective.
This is truly a beautiful brown ale boosted with a delightful aroma of citrus, spice and gourmet Keini, Kenya Beans from The Coffee Collective, Copenhagen – the result is amazing, lusty and incoherent – yes, it’s your wildest desires in a bottle. Close your eyes and let the drops do the talking. Enjoy y’all.

Aroma has mocha coffee, jalopenos, hops, nuts and chocolate. Flavour has cold coffee, hops, jalopenos and some chocolate. Lingering and tickling hops in the finish with some semi-dark chocolate. A bit messy but good anyway.

Poured into a mug, the appearance was a murky brown color with a finger’s worth of white foamy head that held and dissipated at a good pace. Lace clung effectively.
The aroma had some sweet and roasty pecans, mild cake, milk chocolate, sweet dough, some coffee beans, a touch of vanilla and had some earthy bitter hops at the end.
The flavor blended all of this fairly nice. Sweet to roasty to bitter and clenching the aftertaste pretty nice. Mild sweet and bitter sort of finish.
The palate was about medium on the body with a good sessionability about it. Carbonation felt good. ABV felt good.
Overall, pretty good brown ale that I could have again for me, but I didn’t get all of those extra hoppy notes that they said they put in this.

Tap at Brody’s. Dark brown with beige head. Lots of ground coffee, dry herbs, caramel, dry nutty notes, earthy. Quite dry but some nice aromas. Light sweet and medium bitter. Medium bodied with dry watery feel.

Sampled at Brody’s. Clear caramel pour with a thin tan head. Notes of fresly roasted coffee, citrus and piney hops, roasted malts, light metallic bitterness. Nice coffee brew.

Can from Torridon Convenience Stores, Catford. Brown pour with a fluffy beige head. Nose of caramel malt, raisin, smoke, toffee, a little coffee. Flavours of coffee, dried fruit, toffee. Bitter kick in the finish. Good stuff.

Tap at Osteria del Borgo (Rome-Italy). Caramel color quite clear with amber highlights, creamy foam with proper retention. Nose: aroma of rhum, peat, burnt chops. Mouth: it feels like drinking burnt grains...really. Bitterness balances the overall. Tasty.

On tap @Ma che siete venuti a fà (Rome). Bruna, intensa, schiuma avorio/beige media e persistente. Al naso note di malti tostati ed erbacei, di caffè e agrumi. In bocca è dolce all'attacco con finale amaro medio. Corpo medio, carbonazione media. Ok.

10/IV/17 - 1Pt. can from Bierhalle Deconinck (Vichte) @ home - BB: n/a, batch 2 (2017-438) Thanks to Erwin for sharing the can!
Clear dark amber beer, creamy irregular yellowish head, pretty stable, adhesive, leaving some lacing in the glass. Aroma: very hoppy, some tropical fruit, sweet malty notes, some biscuit malts, but mainly very hoppy. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: hoppy start, soft bitterness, fruity, sweet malts, caramel. Aftertaste: soft roast, bit sweet, bitter hops, some tropical fruits, hint of coffee, but not much to be honest. And I don't drink or like coffee, so there's really not a lot in it...
