We cried wolf. Twice. And then we used American hops to make this wonderfully bitter, yet fruity DIPA. That’ll teach us.

Inviting unclear golden pour with a fine thick white head. Nice lacing. Powerful nice aroma with the usual stuff. Pine, tropical fruity and grapefruit hoppy. Yummi. Nice medium to full body with a smooth carbonation. Very balanced sweetness versus bitterness. Balanced powerful flavor with pine, grapefruit hoppy and tropical fruits. Lovely ale for hop heads. No disturbing alcohol either in aroma or flavor! Dangerously easy drinkable.

On tap at the Laundromat Cafe, pours a hazy golden with a medium white head. Nose brings out rich piney and resinous hops, and a dry biscuity malt. Flavour is robust, with loads of piney and resinous hops that blast through, backed by just enough biscuity malt to back. This is a great IIPA - American calibre. Excellent stuff.

Bottle @ ZZT VII, thx to everyone for sharing their bottles. Aroma of lots of pine and pineapple, grassy. Bitter, bit dry. Great balance. They should make this all year round!

Clear golden colour, white head. Aroma of hops, fruity, mint, pineapple, grapefruit, pine, tropical fruits. Lots of hops in the nose. Bitter flavour, quite sweet, sweet malts and hops. Bitter finish, some lingering malty sweetness, grapefruit and pineapple.
Compared in a tasting of three fresh double IPAs, head to head with a fresh Pliny the Elder and De Dochter van de Korenaar Extase, all bottled in April 2013. The Úlfur Úlfur was the sweetest one, with perhaps the best fruity nose. Surprised to say that there was no clear winner, I was maybe expecting the Pliny blowing the others away, but the other two stood their ground and shone brilliantly. Great beers!
(From 33cL bottle shared with friends @ De Dochter van de Korenaar brewery. Thanks for arranging this one for me, Haukur!!)
