A generously hopped saison aged for 1 month with over 500 pounds of plums in the wood for our friends at Plum Market. That adds up to over ten pounds per barrel, which lend a deep plum color with intriguing plum and tart citrus notes in the aroma and flavor.

Once again, my friends, we brew a beer in celebration of one of my favorite places to shop for beer. And other good stuff too, I guess, but for me it’s mostly about the beer. But you knew that, right?

Yes, I am that guy in Plum Market, with the cart teeteringly full of more beer than a human should possibly need, and a smattering of other random goods de gourmet.

So, my friends, a toast to this. Another new beginning; this time in celebration of Plum Market’s latest Ann Arbor store. A very different beer aged in oak on a boat load of plums. More than ten pounds of plums per barrel of beer to be precise. All those plums. Mmmmmm, plums.

On draught at South Park Tavern in Dayton. Pours a hazy copper-orange color with a medium off-white head that dissipates steadily to an outer ring. Stringy lacing. The aroma is oaky with dark fruit and yeast notes. Light to medium body with flavors of vinous oak, plums, yeast and doughy malt. The finish is mildly funky and oaky with a fruity aftertaste. Above average overall.

Bottle thanks to my mom! Pours a hazy light copper orange with an egg shell white head that lasts throughout the beer. Aroma has tart fruits, a bit of citrus, oak and a light floral note supporting. Flavor has more of a plum note that is supported by tart light fruits, flora and a bit of oak.
