22 oz. bottle, pours black with a small beige head. Aroma brings out lots of cognac barrels upfront, followed by roast and light booze. Flavour brings out lots of woody cognac, booziness, and roasty. Boozy and lacking elegance. Hot and deficient.

Bottle - Dark roast and woody notes. Jet black with a small light brown head. Dark roast and nice sweetness from the Cognac.

Poured from a 750 ml bottle. Aroma is rich with a nice chocolate note and some lighter roast character. Hints of honey and caramel. Medium light cognac notes with meidum light to light fruit notes of grape, raisin and prune. Medium light oak notes with hints of alcohol. Faint tobacco and leather notes. Pours black with a small, thick, mocha head that recedes quickly to the edges where it lingers for a bit. Light lacing and moderately long legs. Flavor is rather sweet with a strong chocolate note and a lighter roast character. A light honey note with a touch of tobacco, leather and ash. Light oak notes with a moderate cognac character that becomes more pronounced as the beer warms. Medium light fruit notes with grapes, raisins, plums and prune. Medium bitterness. Mouthfeel is medium full to full bodied with medium low carbonation. Low astringency and low but present alcohol warmth. Overall, a very nice cognac barrel aged stout. A great, thick, creamy mouthfeel with just a bit of stickiness. Lots of cognac and chocolate notes. Alcohol is well hidden.

Bottle thanks to Russell. Pours a dark brown with no head. The aroma is strong cognac, roast, wood, vanilla. Thick mouth, chewy, dark chocolate, very sweet, nice cognac, really enjoyed this one.
