Draught at the brewery
Black color with compact brown head. Some aroma of dark malts and glue. Dark malts flavor, some roasted nuts, chocolate, and phenols; less chili presence than the other version; for this kind of beer, the rye plays better than the red wine. Still a bit messy.

Draft - Sweet malt whisky with just a touch of roast. Jet brown with a rich light brown head. Lots of whisky and some big heat in the throat. Finish is where you see the beer, but it’s a bit too late. As a whisky fan, great, but beer guy in me misses the point.

On tap at Aslan, pours black with a reddish tinge and a small beige head. Aroma brings out an earthy, spicy character from the barrels upfront, with a touch of perfume underneath. Flavour is similar, with earthy spicy rye barrels dominating, followed by perfumey notes further back. The rye is certainly aggressive, making this a bit brutal. The red wine version is much better, though this is a nice experiment.
