500ml bottle from the lcbo. Black pour, small beige head. Roasty, and grassy with a very light mouth feel, and light, slightly watery carb. Roasty finish, hints of coffee, and light hops. Very light stout, very sessionable, but light, and underwhelming.

500mL bottle, pours a deep dark brown with a small beige head. Aroma brings out toasted malt and a touch of licorice, with low residual sweetness. Flavour is along the same lines, with light toasted malt, a touch of licorice, and very faint coffee. Pretty light, without much character. Rather lame, but inoffensive.

Black color, small head. Some aroma of stale bread. Stale bread flavor too, stale water, light roastiness, weak final.
Meh.

Bottle Shop. Keg. Opaque black - brown beer, tidy tan head. Palate is airy, dry and has decent fine carbonation. Fluffy dark malts, little dark chocolate. Mild earthyness. Trace of smoke and mild coffee. Light dry finish. Lots of the right flavours but somehow doesn’t really get going.
