This classic English pub ale has a burnished copper colour with an aroma of toast, honey, and pear. A broad malt body featuring kilned coffee and toffee. East Kent Golding and Fuggles hops give this English style ale a subtle spiciness, which compliments its strong malt backbone.

Pours a rich copper from a can. Bready, toffee aroma, similar flavor, nice English hop notes and bitterness. Good beer.

Sampled from the tap at the brewery. Pours a deep amber with a near white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a good amount of bread, sweet grains and a bit of hay underlying. Flavor is full of smooth bread with some sweet grains supporting.

Tasting at Matt’s, canHazy amber color. It has some caramel and biscuity malt quality, and moderate character from the yeast.
Nice.

Can - Light sweet caramel. Clear copper with a small white head. Caramel and light bitterness with a decent finish.

473mL can, pours a hazy amber with a small white head. Aroma brings out bready malt, toasted caramel and subdued English hops. Flavour is fairly robust for the style, with toasted caramel, English hops, some resins, and bready malt. Dry finish, with a lean mouthfeel. Nice stuff.

Amber colour. This has a caramelly, earthy aroma. About right for the style, but not exciting in any way. Some earthy character, but mostly sweet. Caramel. Medium body. Low bitterness, so not really dry enough in the finish to claim good balance. A bit disappointing, could have brought more to the table.
