Born in Munich Germany on March 21, 1894 – this German blonde lager style was Germany’s answer to the first pilsners of the Bohemian region. Although it is a pale-golden, straw coloured lager, it is full bodied yet finishes crisp and refreshing. The traditional yeast lets the malt flavours shine through while the traditional hallertauer hops leave a subtle spiciness and fruitiness in the finish. Of course the BC grown malt and hops add a local touch to this classic European style. 100% BC ingredients.

Golden colour, but no head. The aroma is a bit on the grainy side. The palate has a lot of pale malt, with a hint of bitterness. Ok balance, not the greatest helles but overall not a bad beer.

650mL bottle, pours a clear pale yellow with a small white head. Aroma brings out light herbal and vegetal notes. Flavour is weak and watery, with the same herbal and vegetal notes. Boring and lifeless palate.

Bottle from Legacy Liquor, Vancouver
Hazy blond color with small head. Some corn and DMS aroma. Dry mouthfeel, weak; the flavor profile is essentially corn, missing barley malt, missing crispness, and no hop character; ordinary bitterness.
I love a properly made Helles, this is just a waste.
