Bottle. Pours a copper, burnt orange with a small off-white head. Aroma is full grainy malts and grassy hops. Flavor has a stronger malt notes with the grassy hops becoming an undertone. I also pick up a bit of sage in the flavor.

Bottle - thanks dmschefke. Brownish copper color with a thin beige head. Smells of citrus and florals with just a faint malty presence. The hops are intense, much more than the aroma would suggest, with strong floral notes. A rich and sweet citrus/caramel blend in the finish. Quite warming too. If this is Shorts pale ale I’d love to try the strong ale...

Bottle. Pours a coppery orange with a thin head and lots of rising bubbles. Aromas are bready with a little bit of hippy spice. Flavor is bread, apple and spice. This is decent, but not very interesting.

Bottle: Poured a deep cloudy copper color ale with a large foamy head with good retention and minimal lacing. Aroma of dry caramel malt with some floral and lightly bitter hops. Taste is a nice in between some floral hops with a slightly bitter and citrus ending and a great malt backbone. Full body with very low filtration and some medium carbonation. Well done and easily drinkable and very much appreciated the low level of filtration.

courtesy of frampin. Pours murky orange with white head. Aroma is nicely malty with bready/cookie nose and touch of hops. Taste, lightly hoppy for a nice bitter palate, fruity with touch of apricot/grapefruit/raspberry, nice balance with the malts that give the beer a nice bready mouthfeel as it gains in room temperature. Very enjoyable, at 4.4% this one could pass for slightly;y higher in abv.

12 oz bottle. Pours golden with a slight orange tinge and a white head. Citrus hop aroma with some sweetness and a touch of bread. Light grapefruit and lemon flavor with some toasted malts. Nice bitterness and a pleasant lemony finish. That lemon note really grows on me the more I drink. I’d think this would be a really nice beer to make a session of.

Draft at the brewpub. This is one of the better balanced APAs I have had — neither the hops nor the malts dominated, yet both were present and not subtle. Amber/orange and cloudy with a white head. The aroma is citrusy with grapefruit and orange peel. Hints of pine, grain and caramel. The flavor was moderately sweet and moderately bitter. Yet neither was forward and the finish was mildly bitter. Very clean. Medium body with a watery texture. Lively carbonation. Very nice and very easy to drink.

On tap at Crunchy’s in East Lansing. Hazy orange body, thin off-white head. Unique candy-like body, with dark fruit notes punctuating the sweet biscuity malts. Interesting citrusy hops, a touch medicinal. A very nice take on the style.
